With the 2009 Reebok Eurocamp in the books, we look back and empty our scouting notebooks from a great weekend in Treviso, Italy. In this report we’ll focus only on the players who did not receive extensive write-ups in our first two articles covering the camp.

Clearly having worn out my welcome in Russia, it was time to work my way back home, with a quick four day stop through Barcelona. Initially the plan was to just take in the DKV Joventut-Lottomatica Roma game, but having realized how many draft prospects are hanging around in the immediate area, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and go see some of them play and practice. Therefore, this blog will be split into two, with the first entry about Barcelona focusing strictly on their suburban team from Badalona, Joventut, while the next will cover all the other draft prospects I was able to observe while here.

Days Three and Four of the Reebok Eurocamp provided a number of memorable highlights, including a phenomenal lecture/clinic by Euroleague champion Ettore Messina, the arrival of potential lottery pick Nicolas Batum, the bulldogging play of fellow newcomer Goran Dragic, solid outings by Vladimir Dasic, Henk Norel and Alexey Shved, and more.
  • 2008 Reebok Eurocamp in Treviso, Day Two

    Jun 08, 2008, 04:25 pm
Day two of the Reebok Eurocamp in Treviso was long and eventful, starting with three hours of drills (three on three play, four on four, pin-downs, spread and kicks, light shooting) followed by a lecture by David Blatt, a workout with Omer Asik, Goran Dragic and Semih Erden, and three competitive games. Vladimir Dasic was probably the biggest standout of day two.

One of this season’s best performers, Tadija Dragicevic, is taking his game to even a higher level, as he’s producing with ridiculous consistency. This past week he reached the 20-point mark twice again, peaking in the Adriatic League with a 39-point performance, which has granted him our Player of the Week award. Meanwhile, somehow hidden in the Spanish second division, Henk Norel is emerging as an important player as well as an intriguing long-term prospect, which is a good enough reason to dig deeper into his game.
  • Roundup: Gallinari Dominates

It’s becoming increasingly usual to see Danilo Gallinari producing almost at will regardless of who he goes up against. His skill repertoire, knowledge of the game and physical gifts propose a devastating equation that hardly anybody can consistently contest. So it’s no surprise that he earns his third Player-of-the-Week nomination this season after another two excellent performances. We also take a long look at Chinese point guard Chen Jianghua, who is regaining his best form in the CBA playoffs, and the English big man Daniel Clark, who might have found a niche in the Spanish second division to deliver his stuff in a competitive setting.
