2016 Nike Hoop Summit: International Measurements

2016 Nike Hoop Summit: International Measurements
Apr 05, 2016, 10:16 pm
The official measurements for the World Select Team at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit were released today. We take a look at the full results and break down the highlights.

DeAndre Ayton
Height (w/ shoes): 6-11.75
Weight: 243
Wingspan: 7-5.5
Hand Length:: 9.5
Hand Width: 9.5
Standing Reach: : 9-3
Country: : Bahamas

There isn't much more to be said about Ayton's measurements that hasn't already been said. He has unbelievable physical tools for a high school junior in terms of size and length. Up almost 10 pounds since the last set of measurements we have for him from last summer, Ayton already stacks up favorably with Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge who measured 6'11.25 in shoes with a 234-pound frame and a 7'4.75 wingspan coming out of Texas in 2006.

Isaia Cordinier
Height (w/ shoes): 6-4.75
Weight: 177
Wingspan: 6-8
Hand Length:: 8
Hand Width: 8.25
Standing Reach: : 8-6.5
Country: : France

Cordinier's measurements line up almost exactly with what he told us in our interview with him in France. He's actually grown marginally since then and while he possesses nice size and length for a shooting guard, he needs to continue to get stronger.

Justin Jackson
Height (w/ shoes): 6-6.75
Weight: 229
Wingspan: 7-3
Hand Length:: 9.5
Hand Width: 9
Standing Reach: : 8-7.5
Country: : Canada

Justin Jackson's measurements are almost identical to those posted by Kawhi Leonard at the 2011 NBA Draft Combine when he measured 6'7 in shoes with a 227-pound frame and 7'3 wingspan albeit with far wider hands. More of a power forward than Leonard, Jackson's measurements are also quite similar to those of Draymond Green. He isn't the same caliber of prospect as either of those players at the moment, but he figures to have the ability to play multiple positions at the next level and even potentially play some small ball center.

Wesley Silva
Height (w/ shoes): 6-6.5
Weight: 189
Wingspan: 6-10
Hand Length:: 8.5
Hand Width: 8.25
Standing Reach: : 8-7.5
Country: : Brazil

Possessing nice size for a wing and the length to play some small forward, Mogi lacks a degree of physical strength, but measured as expected here, the first data point we have for him.

Edin Atic
Height (w/ shoes): 6-7
Weight: 195
Wingspan: 6-9.75
Hand Length:: 9
Hand Width: 8.75
Standing Reach: : 8-6
Country: : Bosnia and Herzegovina

Atic doesn't have tremendous length relative to his height, but he has terrific size for a shooting guard nonetheless. He's gained 10 pounds since last summer as his frame continues to improve.

William McDowell-White
Height (w/ shoes): 6-4.75
Weight: 180
Wingspan: 6-5
Hand Length:: 7.5
Hand Width: 9
Standing Reach: : 8-1.5
Country: : Australia

With an almost even height-to-wingspan ratio, McDowell White lacks length, but has above average height for a point guard.

Harry Froling
Height (w/ shoes): 6-11
Weight: 261
Wingspan: 6-10.75
Hand Length:: 8.5
Hand Width: 9
Standing Reach: : 8-11.5
Country: : Australia

Measuring far bigger than typically listed, Froling seems like a lock to play the center position given his heavy 261-pound frame. He has a negative wingspan, and will be joined by two other big man prospects in SMU's freshman class, so it will be interesting to see how Larry Brown opts to utilize him alongside Ted Kapita and Bruno Fernando long-term.

Kostas Antetokounmpo
Height (w/ shoes): 6-9.75
Weight: 188
Wingspan: 7-1.75
Hand Length:: 9.25
Hand Width: 9
Standing Reach: : 8-11.5
Country: : Greece

The third Atetokounmpo brother isn't quite as big as Giannis, but his frame is more similar to his than that of the shorter, stronger Thanasis. He lacks great bulk at this stage, which was also true of Giannis at the same point, but his 6'9.75 frame and 7-1.75 wingspan give him similarly impressive combination of size and length. He certainly has the tools to play power forward at the college level.

Martynas Varnas
Height (w/ shoes): 6-6.25
Weight: 180
Wingspan: 6-6.25
Hand Length:: 7.5
Standing Reach: : 8-4.5
Country: : Lithuania

Lacking great length and possessing fairly small hands, Varnas does not stand out from a size perspective.

Andres Feliz
Height (w/ shoes): 6-1.25
Weight: 182
Wingspan: 6-2.5
Hand Length:: 8
Hand Width: 7.75
Standing Reach: : 7-10
Country: : Dominican Republic

Feliz lacks great length and physical tools from a NBA perspective, but has solid size for a college point guard. His 182-pound frame is fairly impressive for a freshman as he's roughly the same size as Norris Cole was as a senior at Cleveland State.

Ziming Fan
Height (w/ shoes): 6-11.5
Weight: 250
Wingspan: 7-0.5
Hand Length:: 8
Hand Width: 7.75
Standing Reach: : 9-0.5
Country: : China

Fan has terrific size and a mature frame for a young big man, but he lacks length, which limits him ability to make an impact inside at times.
